Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872 by an act of the U.S. Congress as the world's first national park. Encomposing 2.2 million acres, this unique ecosystem, with its varied landscape and diverse animal populations, is considered by some to be the greatest natural preserve on the North American continent. More than two-thirds of the world's active geysers lie within its borders along with thundering waterfalls, gurgling hot springs, majestic canyons, raging rivers, and vast forests. Home to elk, deer, antelope, bison, moose, grizzly and black bears, and the newly re-introduced grey wolf, and other wildlife, Yellowstone remains a vital testement to the preservation of wild lands.
